Weta released a video on their YouTube channel showing some of the visual effects used in DoS. Including certain shots from Erebor, Mirkwood, and Laketown.

Just in case your getting anxious Desolation of Smaug is available online. Amazon and ITunes have Desolation of Smaug available to buy online only. The DVD/Blu-ray is available to pre-order and will be released on April 8th. The extended edition will be out late this year.

TheOneRing.net is hosting a March madness of their own. In my opinion a much more interesting version, Middle Earth style. You can vote on who you want to win. Desolation of Smaug on DVD

There are always so many ways to buy movies. Some even have bookends and Lego figures. Although those tend to be more expensive. You can buy them on DVD, Blu-ray and an assortment of combo packs, or even online like iTunes or Amazon. Desolation of Smaug is available for pre-order and will be released on April 8th.
