The Hobbit Countdown - The Countdown has ended.

It's been 3 years since I started this blog, counting down for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. My original intentions were simply to countdown for the first movie, and end the blog. Instead, I decided to continue, all the way until the very last movie in 2014. Although I haven't always put this blog in my first priority, it has been a hobby of mine, to check and update through the weeks.

And now, the countdown has finished, and it has ended.
I have loved these past 3 years, and the reminder that I always had a blog to update. I can't quite fathom that these 3 years are already over, and the blog along with it. Thank you, all of you, who have read the posts, who have commented (but let's admit, few have done that) and especially to Movie Fanatic for updating this blog when I had lost the will to do so this year.
Thanks as well to TheOneRing.net, with whom I have received some news to post here.

I received the inspiration to start this blog from the first trailer of The Hobbit, and after watching it a few times, I remember deciding to start a blog counting down for The Hobbit, and I have not regretted it. I do not have much more to say, apart from thank you - a lot.
I will not however, vanish into the oblivion of the internet just yet, as I have one more blogging journey left just yet - the new Star Wars trilogy, which will launch on Jan 14th, Jan 15th for those who live in New Zealand and Australia.  I will also be changing my blogger name from 'hobbit' to 'Jedihobbit'.
Goodbye, and thank you.
And forevermore,
Stay hobbity.

 -hobbit.

The Hobbit - The Battle of The Five Armies - release and review

I'm sure many of you are wondering why I haven't posted this before - it was as I was waiting for the movie to be released everywhere from New Zealand to America, Spain to England.
The Third and final installment to The Hobbit trilogy has been released, ending the journey that began thirteen years ago with the release of The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring.
*Small Spoilers Ahead*

As those of you who have read the book are aware, there isn't a large amount of story in this part of The Hobbit - most likely why some critics are giving The Hobbit some mediocre reviews.
The bits of story that are in The Hobbit are well executed, and the link between the ending and the start of FoTR is good. The main part of the movie - the battle - is amazing - at least, in my view. The arrival of all the armies throughout the movie, the start of the battle and the events leading up to it are great.
However, some scenes with CGI are noticeable, and other scenes include slightly overreacted acting - such as when Bard grabs the Black Arrow from his son - you'll see.
Personally I loved it, even though it had some things in the movie that weren't in the book.

I give The Hobbit: BOFTA - 8/10

And now, as many of you have noticed, I created this blog solely for the countdown of the Hobbit. And now that the final movie has been released, only one more post remains for me to add before December 31.
