Kili. The dwarf without a
beard. That’s how you remember him! (Or pretty dwarf. Many people know him as
pretty dwarf) Kili is the dwarf you are most likely to put with your OC in your
‘The Hobbit’ fanfiction! He is the nephew of Thorin- and the youngest of all
the company, and a bit reckless and carefree. Kili’s name can mean ‘Wedge’ or
‘One who uses a wedge’
Fili, brother of Kili and
nephew of Thorin. Unlike his pretty brother, Fili DOES have a beard- if not a
very small one. He can be remembered by this, and the fact he has blonde hair…
I mean, come on! Stereotypical Middle Earth dwarf DOESN’T, I repeat, doesn’t
have blonde hair! As for personality… well, if Kili is Pippin, than Fili is
Merry. And the two together… cause trouble. Fili’s name means ‘File’ or
‘Filer’.
Bifur doesn’t speak the
common tongue- he can only speak ancient dwarvish… which makes it hard to
relate to him… but it is easy to remember him- the reason for his condition is
the remains of an orc axe stickin’ out of his face. He- along with his cousins
Bofur and Bombur- is the only dwarf in the company not related to Thorin or of
high and royal lineage. Bifur’s name means ‘Hard worker’
Bofur is the dwarf with the
funny hat (the way to remember him), and my favourite dwarf! (I mean, who
doesn’t love the guy with the funny hat?) He has a tendency to blurt things out
and state the obvious, has a fine singing voice and loves music. ‘He joined the
quest for the lonely mountain partly to seek his fortune-’ Says Weta Studios ‘-
and partly because he was told the beer was free,’
He- along with his brother
Bombur and cousin Bifur- is the only dwarf in the company not related to Thorin
or of high and royal lineage. The meaning of Bofur’s name is unknown.
